Exhibit hall offers space to learn, meet, improve skills

AVMA Convention 2022’s exhibit hall will be packed with educational opportunities and career services.

This year’s exhibit hall will have more than 200 booths to browse over three days, with previews of the latest technology, sponsored lectures, giveaways, promotions, and chances to connect with vendors and organizations across the industry. And the AVMA Pavilion will again be at the center of the exhibit hall, where attendees can learn about the AVMA’s tools, resources, priorities, legislative actions, journals, partners, and volunteer leadership opportunities as well as win fun prizes.

Visitors to the AVMA Pavilion also can learn what is new with the American Veterinary Medical Foundation, AVMA Political Action Committee, and AVMA Trust.

Veterinarians can earn two hours of continuing education for visiting the exhibit hall, which will be open from noon-4 p.m. Saturday, July 30; 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Sunday, July 31; and 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Monday, Aug. 1. AVMA Convention 2022 runs July 29-Aug. 2 at the Pennsylvania Convention Center in Philadelphia.

This year’s Digital District, located near the AVMA Pavilion, will be the site of a series of 20-minute CE sessions on technology, telemedicine, well-being, career development, and other issues related to veterinary practice. Examples include Zoetis-sponsored sessions July 30 on control of vomiting and streamlining dermatology practice; an interview July 31 with stars of the Nat Geo Wild show “Critter Fixers;” and a Gravity Payments–sponsored session Aug. 1 on advancing gender equity in positions of power.

The Digital District also will be the site of the Meet the Experts event from 11 a.m.-noon Sunday, July 31, with featured speakers on topics related to clinical practice and personal development. And attendees can also stop by the Headshot Lounge, sponsored by The Vet Recruiter, to receive complimentary professional portrait photos.

The AVMA Trust’s Wellness Booth just outside the exhibit hall will offer convention-goers a chance to check their rabies titers as well as have other health-related blood tests, including cholesterol and vitamin D concentration tests, a thyroid panel, and a PSA test. The Trust booth is open from 7:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m. Friday, July 29, through Monday, Aug. 1, and online appointments are available.

Finally, new this year is the Technician Lounge (booth 236), sponsored by NVA, which will be open during exhibit hall hours. Veterinary technicians are invited to stop in to grab a refreshment, enter for a chance to win raffle prizes, claim some swag, charge their devices, and connect with colleagues. They can also build their own tool belt with bandage scissors, suture scissors, pen lights, and more.
