The Colorado VMA (CVMA) held its annual meeting virtually on September 10.
Awards
Veterinarian of the Year
Dr. William C. Houseweart (Colorado State ’67), Hotchkiss. Dr. Houseweart owns Houseweart Veterinary Clinic, a practice he established on his ranch in Hotchkiss following graduation. He was recognized for his tireless efforts to give back to the rural community he serves, including volunteering his services to those who cannot afford to pay for them.
Distinguished Service Award
Dr. Emily Graves (Pennsylvania ’99 ), Fort Collins. A diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine, Dr. Graves serves as the medical lead for Zoetis Global Diagnostics’ point-of-care hematology platform. She is chair of the CVMA Education Commission and has served on the board of the Zoetis Women’s Council.
