American College of Veterinary Preventive Medicine – June 17, 2023

The American College of Veterinary Preventive Medicine (ACVPM) held its annual diplomate meeting virtually on June 17.

Awards

Helwig-Jennings Award

Dr. Danelle Bickett-Weddle (Iowa State '99), Ames, Iowa, for outstanding and prolonged service to the ACVPM. A veterinary consultant, Dr. Bickett-Weddle is known for her expertise in livestock biosecurity. She previously served as the associate director of Iowa State University College of Veterinary Medicine's Center for Food Security and Public Health. Dr. Bickett-Weddle is a diplomate and past president of the ACVPM.

Distinguished Diplomate Award

Dr. Ronald D. Warner (Ohio State '71), Shallowater, Texas, for significant contributions to the specialty of veterinary preventive medicine. Dr. Warner is a professor emeritus of epidemiology at Texas Tech University School of Veterinary Medicine. He previously taught and conducted public health research at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center's School of Medicine. Dr. Warner is a diplomate of the ACVPM.
