Biographical sketch

With leadership experience as a global veterinarian, Dr. Seyedmehdi Mobini has been engaged in organized veterinary medicine for many years and developed a diverse education and  knowledge of the veterinary profession in the United States and other parts of the world.

Dr. Mobini has always had a passion for giving back to the veterinary profession. He has mentored and guided many students for veterinary school, veterinary technology careers, recent graduates, farmers, and fellow veterinarians. He has shared his expertise through presentations at national and international venues, and has published books, book chapters, and numerous scientific and extension publications.

Dr. Mobini has been an AVMA member since 1981. His first involvement in organized veterinary medicine was through the American Association of Small Ruminant Practitioners (AASRP), serving on its board of directors and as its representative on the AVMA Animal Welfare Committee and AVMA Legislative Advisory Committee. He also was a member of the American Sheep Industry Association’s Animal Health Committee. Dr. Mobini’s service includes stints on the Georgia Veterinary Medical Association Executive Board and on its board of directors, and as the Georgia delegate and alternate delegate to the AVMA House of Delegates. In addition, he has served as a member of the AVMA Committee on Veterinary Technician Education and Activities.

He received his veterinary degree from the Pahlavi (Shiraz) University School of Veterinary Medicine.
