Thirteen veterinary students have won scholarships through the American Veterinary Medical Foundation. The winners were announced July 20 in New Orleans during the Foundation's board meeting. The following students will receive $2,000 each through the 2008 Veterinary Student Scholarship program: - Holly Brown (LSU '10), seeks a career in shelter medicine and disaster preparedness
- Kathleen Ebers (MSU '10), seeks a career in disaster preparedness and response and public health
- Jennafer Glaesemann (ISU '11), seeks a career in animal health studies and disaster preparedness and response
- Stic Harris (GA '09), seeks a career in public health and disaster management
- Barbara Harrison (TUF '11), seeks a career in large animal/equine medicine
- Gregory Krane (TUF '09), seeks a career in animal health studies
- Christa Lloyd (MIN '11), seeks a career in disaster preparedness and public health
- Cassandra Miller (WIS '10), seeks a career in public health and comparative medicine
- Koren Moore (GA '11), seeks a career in public health and disease prevention
- Kelly Sulik (TEX '10), seeks a career in large animal/equine medicine
The following students will receive $1,000 each through the Mildred C. Sylvester Fund: - Pamela Alonzo (KSU '11), seeks a career in shelter medicine and public health
- Kate E. Breyer (IL '10), seeks a career in public health and disease prevention, and disaster preparedness and response
- Matthew Edson (KSU '11), seeks a career in large animal medicine and emergency response
