Trace amounts of melamine have been found in Wal-Mart Chicken Jerky treats; products have been recalled

Wal-Mart has conducted testing of its Chicken Jerky and Chicken Jerky Strips pet food products, subsequent to recalling those products July 26, 2007, and results from the testing laboratory show trace levels of melamine. The laboratory has recommended additional testing.

The products affected were recalled by Wal-Mart in response to complaints received by the company. Those products remain off of store shelves, according to a Wal-Mart statement.

Recalled products include:

  • Chicken Jerky
  • Chicken Jerky Strips
